This exhibition takes as its reference point the quest for knowledge of the unknown that extends beyond pure reason and the physical sciences. That which has no rational explanation but has multiple significances. These artists engage with esoteric knowledge developed from a rich and complex history of symbolism and occult practices such as the Tarot and ritual. Various processes such as spirit photography, automatic drawing, alchemy and unconscious streaming are utilised in the creation of the work. What is clear is the influence and effect of that which cannot be seen or explained.
